Hypnosis NYC: Anxiety Solutions

Curing Your Anxiety through Hypnosis

If you’re suffering from anxiety, hypnosis may be the perfect option for you to turn things back around and start living freely again – without the dangers associated with the use of anti-anxiety medications that many doctors and psychiatrists prescribe. Instead, a combination of cognitive-behavioral therapy and hypnosis can help you radically change your thinking patterns and eliminate your inborn fears by changing your reactions to anxiety-provoking situations.

First, you have to learn to make some lifestyle changes that will help you better cope with stress in your everyday life. If your stress levels are through the roof, we will help you bring your life back into balance. Just talking about your worries can make them seem less frightening – yet another simple benefit of hypnotherapy.

Soon you will learn how to take care of your body and mind in the best way possible and make time in your life for relaxation, fun and new relationships.

Take more risks. Why not?

NYC and Hypnosis

I’ve always been interested in NYC and Medical Hypnosis, and what that relationship has been and how it’s been evolving. NYC is the mecca of the best Western medicine money can buy, much in the same way California is the alternative medicine capital of the country. Within the last five years, however, NYC is beginning to adopt some methods that have been previously shunned or ignored. Now, the entire country, including NYC, is taking a closer look at nutrition, Clinical Hypnosis (neuroplasticity and Rational Cognitive Therapy, both of which are practiced at Gluck Solutions), yoga/meditation, and even, acupuncture. It’s about time Clinical Hypnosis got its rightful place in the public consciousness.

NYC is the melting pot of the world, so why not benefit from the healing insight of the myriad of disciplines of the East and West? There’s still a long way to go despite the growing optimism. Hypnosis in NYC is where chiropractic was in the 1950s. It’s still confused with stage hypnosis, mysticism, and other misinterpretations provided in movies, television, and literature. But, we’re going in the right direction. Tons of my NYC clients, who have tried medication and psychotherapy, have been spreading the word that Medical Hypnosis really does work for quitting smoking, weight loss, and anxiety/depression.

It has taken, and will take more, years for hypnosis to come into its own. There are few NYC practitioners who have serious experience in the field or work to dispel the myths surrounding it, but in the end, it will become the cherished discipline that it deserves to be. Where else for this process to accelerate than in NYC? I have full faith in the future of NYC Hypnosis, and Gluck Solutions’ place in it. Dr. Errol Gluck, till next week.

It’s The End of The World (As We Know It)

With each cycle of economic and political instability comes a share of profits proclaiming that the end of the world is upon us. It would be hard to minimize the economic and political catastrophe. The world is considering the religious extremism, fiscal chaos, nuclear proliferation and lack of universal ethos. However, I’d like you to consider this: In the year 1590 the average age a man lived was approximately 30 years. Even up to the mid 1800’s life expectancy hovered around 40, which today is not far off from many African and impoverished third world nations. Even in countries with the longest life expectancies, 82 years old seems to be the average. Birth and death are a fact that none can dispute. Each person will face his or her end of the world. The acceptance of this fact can either create great peace or great stress. If you completely accept death, the fear no longer has any significance. Remember that almost all fear is surrounded by some form of shame, guilt or embarrassment; none of which exist after death. Though the true questions are: How do you want to live your very short, limited time on this planet? Do you want to be a taker or a giver? Create problems or solutions? Spread seeds of kindness or cruelty? Seek justice or self-service? Life and death are not your choices but these are. The end of the world is truly upon us all.

Feelings Are Not Facts

Happy New Year’s to all. I want to talk a bit about the difference between facts and feelings. In order to do that, there is another duality I need to mention first, and that is the brain/mind split. For years, modern science has defined the brain and mind as, more or less, a singular entity. Recently, however, evidence suggests that the brain and mind are two distinct things. What’s more, they affect each other in deeply profound ways. Of course, we hypnotists knew that all along!

Basically, the mind distinguishes people from one another—it is the person’s abstract fingerprint, their soul DNA—and the brain operates all bodily function. The brain deals with facts, and the mind deals with feelings (of course, this is an oversimplification, but it serves the main point). The brain is evolutionary; the mind, innate. Most of the worries, anxieties, panic attacks, and bouts of depression are feeling-based. Your worry is not a fact. Your inhibitions are not true, like your age and weight are true. This is an important distinction to make.

The power of facts, and your choice of them, can greatly enhance your ability to make yourself feel better. Use what is hurting you to your advantage. If a fact seems like it is against you, play its game and use another fact to give you the wherewithal to maintain a position of gratitude and create something you’re proud of. And, hey, look what happened: your mind is feeling better. Funny how that works. The reason we admire people who face adversity with compassion and joy is because they look at facts in a much different way. What many deem the power of positive thinking is actually a skillful interplay between the brain and mind, facts and feelings.

I look forward to forging new paths with you in 2012. Till next week.
