Life Coaching During a Crisis

There are two types of life coaching: 1) consistent life coaching for a person looking to work through a large problem, or 2) a set of problems and life coaching during crises.

The stakes are higher and there is a greater sense of immediacy for life coaching during a crisis. Coming to me with a generalized malaise surrounding your financial situation is different than coming to me hours before you’re about lose $300,000 on the market (while you and your wife are settling on a new mortgage).

There is undoubtedly a different tactic for each of those situations. I don’t want any misconception of life coaching to lead people into thinking that a life coaching or therapist doesn’t cater to the gravity of a situation.

We’re not going to be softly talking about your childhood mistakes for an hour if the situation demands immediate action. Bring any type of problem my way, 212-599-3195.

Life Coaching and Hypnosis

Hi, my name is Dr. Errol Gluck. For the last 35 years I’ve been doing a combination of rational cognitive coaching and neuroplasticity which is medical hypnosis.

The concept of coaching is that we don’t label a person as being bad or good or being neurotic or depressed or anxious. What we do is we identify what is the resistance that is stopping a person from achieving their goals? We then lay out a plan, a very specific plan, of what steps need to be taken or what thoughts need to be changed.

A Life Coach Reframes Your Life

A lot of the common understanding of life-coaching revolves around the up-tempo coach giving clear-cut advice on “getting your act together.” That is true to a great degree – there should be something of an uprising that a life coach should instill in you. But the first thing a life coach should do is reframe your life.

A lot of people come to my office thinking that their problems define their identity. This couldn’t be further from the truth. In no way, shape, or form are you ever, ever, ever your problem.

This is the first step of my life-coaching process — I get people to recalibrate their understanding of themselves. Self-perception is an important component to improvement. You can have all the ambition, good habits, and positivity, but if you still think of yourself as your own worst enemy, then that will limit where you can go. Call my office to reframe your identity.
