How Hypnosis Could Have Saved Philip Seymour Hoffman’s Life

As a lover of film I was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Philip Seymour Hoffman. He was a genius actor capable of immense depth. But he also had a highly addictive personality that, as a hypnotist for 35 years, I could see from a mile away.

According to various news sources Hoffman quit his drug addiction back in his early 20s, and only recently relapsed in 2013. For genetic and environmental reasons he couldn’t escape drugs.

Inspiration via Hypnosis

If you’re in the arts, or in any vocation that involves steady creative output, you’re sure to have experienced periods of mind-numbing exhaustion. Blankness. Nothingness. Self-doubt, self-criticism, self-delusion, self-absorption…. The list goes on.

What do you come up with next, or perhaps now? Why do you feel blocked, lacking stamina and inspiration?

Clinical Hypnosis can help you get in tune with the parts of yourself that you might have neglected or never knew existed. Give me a call and let’s revive your imagination.

Hypnosis Can Improve Your Memory

Human brain glowing lateral viewDetails matter.  Yet we lose them every day, and not every detail carries the same weight as the other. One lost item can mean the collapse of a larger picture.

Whether it’s forgetting a crucial ingredient to a beloved recipe, forgetting the reasons you make certain high-risk business decisions, forgetting what street you’re on, or where you were going…hypnosis can improve memory loss greatly, no matter what age you are… Curious about how?

What Does Hypnosis Feel Like?

In terms of describing what hypnosis feels like, I often like to compare it to guided meditation. The patient lays down on my recliner, closes his/her eyes, and is instructed to breathe deeply and consistently.

As I begin the induction in my soft and solid voice, you will begin to imagine what I’m saying. With each breath you take and each prompt I give your imagination, you will relax deeper and deeper. Your conscious mind will no longer be so prevalent, but on the other hand, you will not be falling asleep or becoming unconscious in any way.

After 20 minutes of the post-hypnotic suggestions, which are always tailored to the individual and created by me during our first session together, you will slowly come out of the trance-like state. You will not leave feeling dizzy, sleepy, or weakened in any way, but you will feel relaxed. And most importantly, you’ll notice that the problem you came to me for is gone.

So many people think clinical hypnosis with me will look like what they see in the movies: a mystical, goateed man on stage turning an unsuspecting audience member into a clucking chicken after a countdown. But you and I both know that’s ridiculous.

Hypnosis is not entertainment, it’s not mind-control, and it’s not hocus-pocus.But there’s another issue underneath that question that I’d like to address right here: is hypnosis dangerous?
