The word “coach” is deceptive because we typically associate it with sports, where competition and strength is key.
So when you hear the word tacked after “life,” it has to make you wonder: is there a way to win at life? And if so, is your life coach the Bill Parcells, coaching you to a Super Bowl championship?
The answer to that question is both a yes and no. A good life coach will help you feel like a victor and an ultimate champion. But the key word in that last sentence isn’t “champion”—the key word is “feel.”
There’s no such thing as winning in life. You can have a lot of money, but then you may worry about it or may not spend it well. You may have reached the top of your skill or title, but then what? As soon as you start to look at the details of ultimate success (or winning), you’ll notice that the whole thing starts to break apart at the seams.
But while a life coach can’t (and shouldn’t) just put you at the top of the mountain, he/she can make you feel like that’s where you are —all the time! Not just at work, or during sex, or on Christmas, but every day.
A life coach changes your mindset and gets you to a place where you can feel like the ultimate YOU every day.
