Pre Surgery Hypnosis: An Excellent Stress Reliever

As anyone familiar with the relaxation powers of hypnosis is aware, it leaves you feeling calm, soothed and worry free. Unlike other calming techniques or supplements, hypnosis is 100% natural and risk free. It does not interfere with any medications you may be taking, nor does it induce any “hangover” type feelings once it has worn off.

If this is the case, than why wouldn’t one use hypnosis techniques to calm themselves before a scheduled surgery? It’s a stressful time right before you are about to embark on a surgery and studies have shown that not only will you less pain, less need for painkillers and a shorter post surgery stay, it also could help curb nausea and vomiting after operations.

It could become a possibility at the New Milford Hospital as this article we found explains…

“The New Milford Hospital will host a lecture called Preparing for Surgery using Hypnotherapy by Hypnotherapist Sasha Chalif, M.S., M.P., at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, December 11 at the New Milford Memorial Library…According to the hospital, the techniques are meant to support the patient along a personal path designed to elicit a sense of well-being and comfort while minimizing pain and anxiety from the pre-op stage, to the operating room, and through the recovery.”
