Overcoming Major Anxiety Issues through Hypnotherapy

If you’re one of the 8 million Americans suffering from anxiety, I bet you’re located in or around New York City. Although it may not necessarily manifest itself as a panic attack, anxiety is enough of a broad topic to be frustrating when it manifests itself individually! It can be fatal the moment you cast the experience aside. Don’t do that anymore. Don’t take your prescription medications obsessively, blindly, trying to combat the damn anxiety; knowing deep down that the pills probably aren’t working anymore, but you don’t know what else to do, they’re there, you’re scared, you’re told they’d work, so you take them.

I don’t blame you. Needless to say but necessary to reiterate: the pills don’t always get to the root of your problem. If anything, their cost causes greater anxiety. And you may say, well, it’s also costly to get at the root via an all natural method. But listen: if you do get to a state in which you can expend whatever is necessary to get to the root, then you should: The benefits are permanent and will save you the rest of your life.

Of course, you know where I’m going now: Hypnosis. And no, hypnosis is not talk therapy. Talk therapy can go on forever. Hypnosis is structured, with the goal of treating you fully and efficiently in a short amount of time. Neuroplasticity, the science behind hypnosis, physically changes the way your brain will associate certain information so, what once induced stress and anxiety will now leave you cooler than a cucumber. Your anxiety might be unique and entertaining, but that’s no reason to let the pain continue. Want to make it stop? Call my office at (212) 599-3195.

Clinical Hypnosis for PTSD

Post-traumatic Stress Disorder develops out of some kind of extreme psychological event that usually involved the threat of injury or death. This can be war, rape, domestic abuse, or the sudden loss of a loved one are just a few examples. Symptoms are not hard to miss. They include flashback episodes, nightmares, associating events in your life with that prior event, emotional numbing, despondency, hyper-vigilance, anger; and physical manifestations of headaches, dizziness, and agitation.

Clinical Hypnosis is the prime choice for PTSD treatment. In a city as high-powered and abuzz as NYC, it is easy to ignore the wounds left by trauma. The moment you do recognize them is the moment you should take action and find a cure.

Fortunately, because the images of a traumatic episode are so vivid, gliding into a trance is not difficult. You and I will use painful memories, re-purposing them to create a better emotional and mental framework.

For example, if you witnessed a friend die of a disease in an army camp and the image of him suffering on his bed haunts you every day, we will use that image in all its detail to help you break free from the negative associations. We will help you rise above, we will help you say goodbye, and we will get your life as it is today back to where you want it.

I just want to mention that for those survivors who have PTSD, I have only respect for your strength. Of course, I don’t have total understanding because no one can truly understand what you’ve lived through – it’s insulting for anyone to pretend like they can. But I do have the skills to help give you your life back.

Take a listen to the following interviews on Gluck Radio, about surviving PTSD

Hypnosis and the Fear of Success

A fear of success is common, even in NYC. The interesting thing is that underlying the obvious fear of success is atychiphobia, which is the fear of failure. If you are suffering from posttraumatic stress, you know that before the traumatic event – and in fact what probably made it worse – was a moment of intense joy followed abruptly by disappointment.

Survivors tend to fall into two categories. The first includes people who avoid situations in which even the slightest bit of risk is involved. When avoidance gets obsessive, people get stagnant in some vital way. They might cut off necessary relationships or make ruinous professional decisions. Second category includes people who seek to avoid avoiding. That is, they do want to continue to being productive, aware that part of progress includes making mistakes. They keep taking risks, seizing opportunities, staying hopeful no matter what. This is healthy so long as the behavior doesn’t eventually transform into a compulsion to replicate the sensations of being traumatized.

There’s trouble is, realizing an upcoming success, the person suddenly starts to self-sabotage. And if the person does this again and again. Why? Usually because the person feels a sense of comfort in the loss. It is better to have controlled the loss than to possibly lose again no matter how hard they’ve earned their success. Being in charge of a downfall outcome boosts the person’s self-confidence. If one can hurt oneself consciously, one won’t suffer as much or at all from unexpected failure.

However: The comfort one derives from thwarting success is ultimately followed by guilt when the actual consequences of failure arise. Problems start to pile up. We will address them during treatment that combines Life Coaching and Clinical Hypnosis. Most importantly, I will work on rewiring your brain to make new associations with achievement in general.

Get Rid of Stress via Clinical Hypnosis

A stressed out womanHaving practiced Clinical Hypnosis in NYC for over 37 years, I find that stress is the basis for nearly every anxiety disorder that New Yorkers face.

The city, as always, is demanding and competitive. Add to that the conditions of the Digital Age: the impossible struggle for excuses to be “unavailable” causes people to forget how to gain and appreciate the time they do need for themselves, even when they have earned the freedom to do so.

Founded on the science of neuroplasticity, Clinical Hypnosis gets you to let go of those inhibitions that prevent the mind from shutting down and entering relaxation. There’s no reason in fearing that such a state will leave you vulnerable, weak, and unaccomplished. If anything, the pressure to perform despite exhaustion is often the main trouble.

Hypnotherapy for Living in Your Thirties

Based on recent clients, I’ve noticed that the problems of adulthood are at their highest for thirty-year olds. Especially in this time, after the surge of unemployment and the country’s economic crisis, men and women in their thirties are stressed over not reaching the goals they believe they were supposed to reach in their younger years.

If the adults are college graduates, their loans are obstacles to the answer of simply furthering their education. Also consider the alienation caused by an over-reliance on technology and social networking to build relationships, and you’ll eventually get the real picture:

Thirty-year olds in 2014 are at risk at being a severely depressed, anxious, and discouraged group. If you agree, let me know your thoughts. Or if you think you may be a part of this group, how about considering hypnosis?
