World Hypnotism Day

This past Saturday was World Hypnotism Day, a day where hypnotists all over the world celebrate and encourage the effectiveness of an all-natural treatment for life’s worst problems.

I was about to call it “therapy,” but like the woman in the following article (see link below), it’s more a “technique for change.” Its key to success is that it has such little in common with other forms of therapy, that I don’t want to confuse people.

One thing to note is the fact that still so much of the struggle for us hypnotists is enlightening people to what hypnosis is not. Like the article says, it is not mind-control or other comedic depictions you’d find in movies and television. I’m not going to make you dance like a chicken. Any hypnotist worth his/her salt treats hypnosis as a sacred treatment that will surprise anyone who gives it a try.

Happiness on the Internet

Whenever people think of what it takes to make them happy, they conjure up images of things like their family, being in the woods, or eating a delicious meal. But no matter what they imagine, their fantasies almost always have one thing in common: it’s always in the real world.

People spend most of their time on the Internet, yet whenever they imagine “happiness” it’s never in the virtual world! This is a great problem! While I’m not the most tech-savvy person in the world, I’m also no Luddite.

A life coach, like any other person, has to get with the times. I’m not here to tell you that your cell-phone is killing your humanity and wasting your time. Technology itself doesn’t do that; only the abuse of technology does that. It’s all about balance. So I think imagining your own happiness can include reconnecting with an old friend on Facebook, or just Googling around on a topic that interests you for an hour.

If, however, you find yourself abusing technology, like you would alcohol or drugs, you can come to me for hypnosis that treats all forms of technology addiction. But as your life coach, let me tell you that it’s okay to embrace technology—as long as it’s in moderation.

Resolutions Always Fail, Right?

So resolutions always fail, right? There’s always a February falloff right? We lose 10 pounds in January, but then that box of chocolates just proves irresistible. True? Not necessarily.

The number one reason that resolutions fail is because we view resolutions wrong.

A lot of us think that resolutions are this mountain-top pot of gold that we need to strive to achieve. This inherently creates a huge amount of pressure because, after all, who wants to hike up a mountain?

Resolutions should start with looking at the treasure that’s right in front of you on the ground. Start small. Rather than externalize your dreams by saying to yourself, “I’m going to lose 30 pounds this year,” reframe that resolution by saying, “I’m going to lengthen my walk to work by 1 mile every day” or “I’m going to spend more time in the produce and vegetable section of the supermarket.”

Make your resolutions simple and manageable, and they will take off.

Can Life Coaching Improve Your Dating Skills?

Let’s talk about dating. Remember dating? It used to exist. Now, everything is online and here is some of my advice for you.

One is, don’t go online. The ability to walk over to another person, introduce yourself, give them a business card and say, “Listen, this who I am. I don’t know you, you don’t know me, but I would love to have a cup of coffee with you.

Now, if you are able to accept the fact that there’s going to be a lot of rejection involved, but at least you show that you have the courage, you have the confidence to say, “This is who I am. Look me up online. I’m single, I’m not involved, and I’d like to get to know you. If you’re open to that, great.”

The ability to look in a person’s eyes — as opposed to texting them, as opposed to going through the Internet where people lie about just about everything — is a skill that you might just want to develop.

Dating can be extremely fascinating, if you eliminate the fear and you eliminate the bullshit. Try it. You might like it.

You might say what I just told you to do, I could not possibly do! That is why you need life coaching. I will show you how to get into a person’s personal without threatening them.

I will show you how to communicate in a way that’s comfortable, how to create instant intimacy, how to create a sense of you’re a safe person and not a nut! I will show you how to date in a way that will make you an expert dater, and at the same time, not a liar. This is an adventure you’re going to want to take.

How to Overcome Your Phobias with Hypnosis

Phobias are quite interesting because people who are highly successful, who have achieved great things in life, have little secret phobias that no one knows, and we kid about them, and we just say, “Well, this is just part of our personality.”

Dr. Errol Gluck Discusses Phobias and Hypnosis

“I’m afraid of planes.” “I’m a claustrophobic.” “I’m afraid of public speaking.” “I’m afraid of mice or ants,” or whatever the case might be. But most people don’t know that a phobia can control a great deal of time and portion of your thoughts.

Using coaching and hypnosis, in particular, eliminates phobias in a very short time, and without that space in your head being taken up by a phobia that doesn’t need to exist, you could actually put your life, mind, and time into something that would actually bring you happiness.
